    A turtle's shell is not its home contrary to popular culture. It is a form of defense and it's actually attached to his skin. Describing a turtle's shell as its home would be like describing a person's skin as their home.

    So technically, if a turtle loses its shell, then between the choice of 'homeless' or 'naked', a turtle would be called 'naked'.

    I'd say apart from being much faster, colder and lighter, the turtle is basically naked and as a result of his condition some kind soul would pick him up and take him home anyway so he would get one finally.

    Good question...She is naked....her home can be a hole in the ground or some brush in a tree you know....
