Im trying to burn a film to dvd via pc. It says there is not enough space on the dvd...can i compress it or anything so that i can still burn it and watch it on a regular dvd player?

John n is, essentially, correct. Although, rather than getting another app. to do the job, check the quality settings in your burning software. I suspect you'll find that you're attempting to burn the movie in high quality, onto a 4.7gb dvd. If this IS the case, it won't work, as a 1.5hr movie in HQ requires in the region of 8gb of space.
Instead, reset the movie quality to 'standard'; you should find that it will now burn onto a 4.7gb disc quite happily - and you will notice no difference in quality on playback in a standard dvd player (ensure the player is dvd+/- r enabled).

Get dvd shrink and remove the extra languages and your movie will fit on a dvd. The copy of the movie will be readable in regular dvd players.
