Does anyone else remember Gene HIMSELF posing for a promo shot, in full uniform as the ACTUAL 1st captain of the Enterprise?? :)
What was the name and rank of the character. WHO incidently has appeared in Star Trek Books, AND the animated series from the early 70s. 10 points to the 1st person to give the correct answer. :)
Eric C is first AND correct! Pike was NOT the 1st Captain of the Enterprise. by Roddenbery's own design, the 1st Captain of the ships was Robert April. Wasn't Roddenberry's "character" in the promo shot titled something along the lines of Captain Robert April ??
Not sure about the Star Trek books & animated series - Christopher Pike was the captain in the original pilot episode which was re-cut to the two-part episode which most folks know as "the Menagerie"

The actual first Captain of the Starship was Christopher Pike, he was featured in that two part series, that started out as a movie.

hi, Kirk will take advantage important mistake of his occupation through beaming Cpt Mainwaring and adult adult males aboard. And agency turns into Denterprise then Kirk will be elementary as James T Birk.
