I am answering this question since I came back from Saudi just 2 months back:
USD 6000 per month = approx 22,400/- riyals.
Ur expenses would be as follows:
a)Rent- 1500 Riyals for a 1BHK pad
b)Food-750 Riyals per month
c)Travel-250 riyals(better buy a car-it cost only 1.5 riyals per gallon of gas)-its way cheap that way.
d)telephone to india-500 riyals per month
e)Internet-200 riyals
There is NO booze, girlfriends, etc in Saudi arabia.
There is No lazing or moping around in saudi arabia. Its strict strict and strict way of life-u have absolutely NO socializing except with male bachelors and u would hate the place soon enough if u have no work to do. Fridays would be terribly boring!
U will end up saving lots of money but you would surely lose out a good two years of your life!!
Dont ever get into trouble with the police in Saudi.
Follow the rules very very strictly-do not ever argue with a Saudi policeman, Custums guy,Immigration official.
If u know arabic its ok-if you dont and someone asks in Arabic-dont answer-dont question back-dont sneer or laugh at the opposite person in such circumstances.
Be careful when in public places-avoind eating during the Prayer time and better still stay indoor during the Prayer times.
Never discuss politics in Saudi arabia even if its of your native country.
Never discuss or argue about religious matters with Muslims even if they are Indians
Never never loan money to others even if they are ur friends-Never!!
If u can live with all these restrictions-then Welcome to Saudi Arabia!!

Hi Bala.
The offer is very good and you be save vey well.
Cost of living in total, incl. acc, car, and food is around US1000-1500. so your saving is about $4500-5000.
Riyadh is not fun though for a Bachelor, unless you have a nice group of friends and you can waste time together.
But you have two advantages:
1. You will save good money
2. You will put your feet in the Gulf area and you can easily later find another job in Qatar, Dubai, Kuwait or maybe Bahrain.
Decision is up to you. take care.

Hello brother
6000 USD/month is way above average of salary standards in Saudi Arabia, but avergae for IT professionals. Lots of IT professionals get less than 4000 USD (plus they have families) and are greatful for it.
The cost of living in KSA is reasonable -if not low- comparing to the cost in UK, but it depends on the level of living you want to live. The only thing you should care of is to find out wether they underestimated you!
I`ll tell you something... I`m a 27 years old Saudi citizen who used to work as an "HR Supervisor" of a Saudi Leading IT company.
So, e-mail me your CV to check how much you worth in the Saudi IT Market. And details of the company -name & address- to know the approximate room rent in the area where the work place`s located.
Also send a copy of the offer letter to check it from a legal prospective -this would be for free lol-.
*Send the message to "kalhoraibi@gmail.com" under the subject "IT Applicant".

You can have a much better offer in Dubai, UAE.
US$6000 all inclusive in the UAE is a meager salary for a top IT caliber in Dubai. OK you are asking about Saudi - but still you are talking of 2 good years of contract.
Ask what a SAP administrator or SAP implementor in Dubai is getting and you will be surprised what I'm talking about.

Its a great salary, you can save more than 50%. Cost of living is the lowest in the Middle East. All you need to do is to be a law abiding resident and you will have no problems.

You can have room sharing with other Indian Bachelor for only 100-200 USD/Month.
you can save 5000 USD every month depends the way you live with women no girlfriends no where to go except you little society.
