Who wants to support our shows?

After 3 months of negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the Writers Guild of America has gone on strike. I’ve provided links for anyone who wants to know more about what forced this action. Some of our favorite shows are already off the air. Others only have a handful of new episodes left. If the AMPTP takes a hard line, they will replace scripted shows with 2nd-rate reality or game shows.

Here is my suggestion. Mail unsharpened PENCILS to the AMPTP and your favorite studios. It costs 58 cents on a business-sized envelope.

Lets show them just how much support the WGA and the shows they write have, AND give the AMPTP a graceful way to back down. We are their customers. Our opinion should count.

AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers)

15503 Ventura Boulevard

Encino CA 91436

Thanks!

Keep up the good work! The writers deserve to be compensated for on-line use of their work. Classifying as "promo" material while showing entire episodes with ads is criminal.

Hey, the pencil thing in the mail is really creative! I like it.

I'm kinda caught on the fence. (stupid fence. It hurts my butt to be sutting on this thing.) On one side, I sorta support the AMPTP strikers, because they have the perfect right to do it. TV makes, like, billions of $ a year, and they get a couple dollars from it. I read in the newspaper that for every $20 DVD that's sold, each writer gets pennies. I'm not lying.

On the other side, I really, really like to catch up on my favorite shows when I've missed an episode. Solution? Simple: RELEASE THE POWER OF THE INTERNET!

But now, the striking writers want u 2 pay 4 stuff on the internet. So I'm caught.

However, the pencil thingy is still a brilliant idea!

Great idea, I'll skip my coffee break, save the money, and put 10 of them in the mail Monday morning. But wouldn't broken pencils make more of a statement?

    Good Luck

    Great idea.

Sad thing is even when the studios give in, they'll just increase the cost of their shows on DVD and such.

Greedy CEOs can't get by on $19 million a year instead of $20 million a year.
