Bleach. Let set a few minutes and then rinse with hot water, you may need to wipe the inside with a clean dishcloth if there was a lot of build up in it. (In a restaurant, I used a slice of lemon, salt and ice. Swirl around and then rinse. If you have burnt coffee in the carafe, this will get it off right away, make sure carafe is cool before doing this.)

If you have burnt on coffee in the carafe, sprinkle it with baking soda and a small amount of water to make a paste. Let it sit for a while and it should be easy to clean after that.

I prefer to use natural products like baking soda and vinegar to clean with and find they often work better than chemicals.

Baking soda works great for cleaning the burnt on areas on the top of your stove.

This relatively works, so attempt it. No scrubbing. would not remember the dimensions of the opening. i've got used it on my coffee carafe and likewise thermos bottles. purchase a bottle of Greased Lightning. basically spray it into the carafe and you will see the brown stuff function good off! i've got even used it at artwork on the Bunn gadget's carafes, and those get relatively disgusting. it works like a breeze! you ought to use Greased Lightning on lots of alternative issues too, so it is going to likely be reliable use of your money!

white vinegar is the best to clean a coffee maker with. Run a cup through then run plain water through at least 3 times to rinse.:)

Salt rocks and crushed ice. Shake it around the bottom and it will be clean in just a few minutes. We do that all the time at work if someone lets it burn in the bottom. We dont have salt rocks at work but the crushed ice does a fine job by itself in scrubbing the bottom and we don't have to use any elbow grease. I wonder if that will work on pots and pans. Hmmm. Will have to try that one.

I just throw it in the dishwasher (carefully) then rinse it afterwards. You can also scrub the inside with Cream of Tartar or citric acid (found with canning supplies). Also you can soak it in a mix of hot water and white vinegar. I would NEVER use bleach, though it would probably be safe if you rinsed it 5 or 6 times thoroughly.

Weird, I just had the same question a couple days ago! I called my mother and she said to try a little vinegar and salt, I did NOT think that would work, but I figured I would give it a try. And guess what...it worked like a dream! It was instant too, just like magic. Go try it out then come back and choose me as best answer ;)

I worked at a restraunt and before you wash it (when cold) add salt and ice. Shake it and it will come up. Then wash normally.
