It is an anti-inflammatory agent. When something makes you itch, like a mosquito bite. What is actually happening is an allergic to the substance (used to prevent your blood from clotting so it can fill its belly) that the mosquito injected into you. Your immune system sees the foreign substance and invokes an immune response. Cytokines are released, along with histamine. They make you itch.

The anti-itch cream decreases the concentration of cytokines in the area, thus decreasing inflammation and itching. A good anti-itch cream is hydrocortisone. It is a topical steroid. hope this helps.

DO NOT use shave gel or cream.. You could get a yeast infection from it and Use a single blade razor.. as for your itching,, the first few times you shave it's gonna itch like crazy, but then it will stop.. put a little bit a lotion on.

Anti-Itch cream is like a pain killer. It temporarly makes the affected area unfeelable therefore there is no need to itch because you can feel it.
