Kanye West's Mother Donda West Has Died - My Heart Goes Out to Kanye West

WCGI, a radio station in Chicago, Kanye West's hometown, is reporting that Kanye's mom, Dr. Donda West, has passed away. I was hoping and praying that it was just an awful internet rumor but it appears to be true. She allegedly died from an allergic reaction to medicine while getting a breast augmentation and tummy tuck. This saddens me tremendously. I can't even imagine what Kanye is going through right now. My prayers and thoughts are with him and his family. My heart is breaking for Kanye and I have tears in my eyes.

LOS ANGELES—Kanye West's mother has died.

A spokesman for West says the rapper's mother died Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Donda West served as chief executive of West Brands LLC, the parent company of her son's business enterprises, according to a biography on the Web site of the Kanye West Foundation, which she chaired.

She was the former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department and recently published the book "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star."

A cause of death has not been released.

November 11, 2007. Earlier today, we sadly reported that Kanye West's mother, Dr. Dondra West passed away. Since then, the mainstream media has been speculating as to what could have caused her untimely passing. Well MediaTakeOut.com, the world's most visited Black website, managed to get an EXCLUSIVE interview with one of Dondra's family members. And according to that person, Kanye's mother died of complications that arose while getting a tummy tuck and breast implants.

The family member, who was distraught by the incident, told MediaTakeOut.com, "It really was a tragedy. [Dondra] went in to have the procedures, and she never made it out." The insider continues, "I'm not sure if it was the anesthesia or what, but she never made it out of the operating room alive."

It's not clear, however, that the physicians or the hospital involved in the procedures are at fault. Nor is it clear that Dondra's passing was a direct result of anything done during the surgery.

In the next few days, details of Dr. Dondra West's death will be all over the news. But remember that you heard it on MediaTakeOut.com first...

The cause of death was not released immediately, but she was reportedly in the Los Angeles area when she died

I heard it on WGCI 2 and none of the news stations or other radio stations have anything on the story, but i guess rhyme fest just told WGCI first but i think by the end of the day it going to be on BET.

Well somebody told me last night that they got word that she died, I went and searched really hard on the internet and nothing came up so I thought maybe it would be on in the morning still nothing I think it's a rumor. We must remember that sometimes the media don't go to the source and get info I think it's a rumor.

Yeah i live in chicago too. WGCI said they was the first one to hear it. I have no clue why she passes away. But Rhyme Fest was on wgci talking about it too.
