Why do we look at death as a bad thing?
Is it the fear of the unkown? or is it because we love life?

From what I know, society sees death as a bad omen because nobody knows what happens after death. It is not something anyone is entirely sure about because noone has "enough" knowledge about it. So, I think your first guess was correct. It is a fear of the unknown. It is also the fact that once a person dies, they are no longer with us. Nobody wants to lose a loved one, so they blame death for the loss.

It is both, death is the ending of our existence, although the afterlife is unkown to us, while at the same time we have trouble letting go of the world which we know and have grown accustomed to. Death may not be bad when a person feels fulfilled, but when they do not, the people have trouble letting go

I like this question. ...death we all do it. I think because there is little embrace of it as part of the American culture - other cultures seem to be more at peace with it ( like De los muertos?) i dont think i spelled that right but I would say fear of the unkown is good way to put it for the average person.
Im not afraid to die, only afraid to die before i do what i need to do here

Its not that we look at it as a bad thing, we fear it, we fear of losing the ones who are dear and near to us and that we wont be having our daily activities with them.
