why is the writers strike seen as bad?

What is so bad about the strike? It gets the crap we are inundated with off the air, it opens the market to creative people who do not live in California, TV viewers should turn to the open source of the internet and then maybe TV will go away, or evolve into something good. am i wrong?

Well the strike is on. Has it changed your life? Not mine. I hope the strike lasts for ever. Writers make good money for what they do. Real good money. Just because every jerk in Hollywood thinks he's a writer and is out of work because he's not, makes it look like all the people on strike are good writers. Most of the strikers are just people who have done nothing and think there writers.

    - Without "the crap," beautiful people just stand and stare at the camera.

    - "...creative people who do not live in California" can't get their shows produced either because actors and technicians will not cross the writer's picket lines no matter Where they live.

    - "...open source..." can't sustain a viewer's interest for more than about four minutes. If you think professional screenwriters are churning out crap, try a steady diet of guys in their bedrooms mugging to the camera, girls lip-syncing to Fergie, and evangelical tirades damning us all to hell.

You'll be TIVOing "Miming with the Stars" in no time.

PS... television doesn't "evolve." Some One person has One Unique Idea, claws and scratches to get it into production, is "Discovered," creates a dynasty... which is then tweeked slightly and copied over and over and over again. I mean, I saw the first episode of "C.S.I." and KNEW that show was going to be a looooong-running hit! But, com'on!, how many rip-offs does one planet Need!?

So what's the solution? How about, say, professional screen writers dreaming up New comedies and dramas and mysteries and histories. Now There's an idea!

You're wrong. I want to watch something good, not amateur hour.

There is a lot of good stuff as well as crap on TV, you just have to look. Or not. Your choice. But there is a huge difference between "creative people" and a professional writer, actor, etc. Everyone moves to Los Angeles to get into entertainment because that is where it is centralized. Production of a show that is up to professional standards takes a lot of people with professional skills. Most of the funny or cool stuff online was generated by professionals. Most of the lame and boring stuff is made by students etc...And the internet is not open, the corporations own huge chunks of it as well as the means for broadcasting and streaming.

Because they are the same writters that run the storyline for our government. Its all an act, you know that.
