Born: August 23, 1754 in Versailles Palace, France
Death: January 21, 1793 by guillotine in Paris, France
He was the last of the absolute Bourbon kings of France. Also his reign ended because of the French Revolution that began with the storming of the Bastille.
He aided the colonies in the American Revolution. If not for France's help America might not have won. By causing the Revolution because of his numerous faults, this helped lead to a free France in later decades.

Check Google. He was the last King of France before the Revolution, and his most important contribution to society was losing his head - not that the regime that followed was an improvement.
