Illegal immigration reform IMHO?

My idea to curb illegal immigration though it may sound cruel is to end the policy of "if you have your baby here then it is citizen"

I think there should be warnings along the fence that state that if you are illegal and if you come into America to give birth then you are gonna have to give up your baby to an American family that wants a child. This might certainly end our adoption policies with China too. Considering all the negative studff we have been hearing about China, who needs their babies, when there are countles #''s of babies being born here everyday to ilegal immigrants. We could have made laws for those babies to be put up for adoption.

Americans families suffer if they can not take care of their children,so the same should be applied to illegal immigrants. Since they are illegal and If they they have to rely on America's help to raise their kids then in all due respect they are not able to take care of ther children and should have to give them up.

Update:

Wotan,

Are you the one who starred my question? Seems to be the case?

Update 2:

This is interesting discussion. I must be honest and say that even though I am not really for this, something has to be said that will stir up dialogue wit this debate. Can someone tell DAR to contact Yahoo to see if Lou Dobbs can be a guest questioner for this discussion?

Update 3:

Lettie D,

Thanks for star. I found out that it was who starred it.

Theoretically this is an idea that would probably cut the inordinate amount of illegals. I do agree that a baby born to an illegal here should not automatically become a citizen of the US. It's really not fair as it is, because our tax dollars have to help pay for medicaid, etc. for the illegals and I like you, would rather that my dollars help legals. However, Michael, and this is probably because I am a woman and Mother, taking these babies from their Mothers is cruel and really not very moral. Maybe we could just send the Mother & child back when she gave birth in the hospital and that might help some. But we can blame big business for the largest number of illegals. Because if they did not hire them, there would be no reason for them to be here.

I agree completety. My wife is a legal immigrant. It was a huge pain in the *** to follow the process but we did. I get tired of people not differentiating. Further, I think that there should be no amnesity for any illegals. They should be deported and go through the process like everyone else. I think it is BS that because someone comes illegally, has a kid here, then they expect us to feel bad that deporting them would split up a family. Follow the law. I am all for needing proof of citizenship for all government services (driver's license, school, property ownership, library cards everything!). If they cannot get by here, they won;t come illegally.

Well you have a point, but it may never work because ill legal immigrant parents may not want to cooperate, and give their kids up in the first place, and second wouldn't it just be a burden because; Now there are all these kids whom others are responsible for. So if the immigrant has their kid in the U.S. the immigrant parent(s) and the kid should be sent back to where they come from. Because especially for one in California lots of Hispanic immigrants come in, and have babies, and just get "free" benefits which are of course free to them because the taxpayers pay for these things. But the immigrants do not give anything back most of the time, so they should thus keep themselves, and their offspring in their countries no matter how poor their countries are, and how they are.

No, Michael, although I usually agree with you, this is not such a good idea. Mexico is our neighbor and ally & we need them; we can't start doing things that will cause bad blood between us. Taking away their babies is not just cruel & unusual punishment, it's unjust & totally inhumane, not to mention illegal. We already have enough countries that hate us. People...let it go! There has to be better solutions.

Good idea, but it would never float. This country's ingrained Puritan ethic of feeling guilty about being successful, would shoot it down in a minute.

But sounds like you have a real fertile mind. Keep at it, and you just might come up with something that could succeed.

    Thanks for your question.

What ever happened to love your neighbor? We treat these people poorly, calling them "illegal aliens". Yet, there are companies who would move there shop to Mexico, for cheap labor! Hell, we can't even take care of our own people here! Greed runs this country; the rich will always get richer in this country, stepping all over the little guy. That border should be opened, and we should come together as a whole! It is not about security! The ones who want to do "us" harm are already here! It is not about saving our jobs, cause they will just move your jobs there! More can be accomplished if we all pull together, instead of labeling and threatening each other!

Sorry Mike, but I disagree with you on this.

Borders are man made. That's why we have wars.
