I asked my father-in-law for permission. The answer I got though was less than enthusiastic. It went kind of like, "We like you and we have no problem with you." That was about it.

Stats say that about 80% of men have had affairs and maybe around 50% of women. Men cheating have nothing to do with a happy or unhappy home. It has to do with biology. Men are biologically polygamous. They need variety. There is a real reason why there are 12,000 topless clubs and prostitution is the worlds oldest profession. Hookers will tell you that married men make up 80% or more of their business. And they wil also tell you that they have saved or extended moremarriages than any marriage counsellor. Another bit for your curiosity, divorce is in the 50% to 60% range except amoung swingers whre it is around 10% or less.

He should ask. I made my husband ask my mom and brothers (dad is passed away) before I officially accepted his proposal. Most of my married friends did the same thing.

My husband did, only cause he has class.
I still probably would have, but it's sweet proper and nice and if he had the nerve to ask my father, then that's HUGE!

My fiancés father died before I met her. But I did ask her mother for permission, then asked her mom if her father would have approved too.
