Thank you for allowing me to spread my wings although I will miss each and every one of you. It has been a pleasure working here and getting to know each one of you personally, but duty calls from me to change the direction of my life, and thank you for your support and you will be greatly missed.

Who are you writing notes to? If it's your boss or supervisor, make sure to mention the time that they spent training you, and for all their help when you were lost on a project or a meeting. Keep it short and simple, but eloquent.
