Republicans staying in office for Presidency...?

Since the Democrats are too busy throwing mud at each other, is it possible for the Republicans to slip into the Presidency this coming electioin?

    And that's a bad thing? This Republican we have now possibly, but remember Nixon ended Vietnam. Kennedy and Johnson escalated it. Carter's administration had the hostages. Reagan saw them returned on Inauguration Day. Roosevelt declared war. Eisenhower had peace.

    That's the wrong question. Sure, anything is possible. At this point, though, we haven't even defined what it means to be a Republican or Democrat. The first issue is who either party will nominate. Until we know that, we don't know what Democrat or Republican means, and we don't know who has a chance or who doesn't.
