Are you doing what you've always wanted to do with your life?

Do you feel you are achieving what you were meant to do? If you are not, why aren't you? I want to know all the reasons and excuses people have for not doing what they feel they should be doing.

The things that I've always wanted to do with my life are all far fetched. That's why they aren't coming to fruition. For example, I'm an artist/writer and I've always wanted to get artwork or writings or both(comics) published. I've taken many measures towards achieving this goal but nothing has ever come from my efforts.

Also, in my life I wanted to have tons of women wanting me and I wanted to have sex with tons of women. But that didn't work out because I was one of those guys that looked like I was 12 when I was a high school senior. So girls were out of the question until I turned 18 and finally started to look closer to my age. Then I quickly got snatched up into a committed relationship and so I've never even gotten to try to have sex with tons of women.

Also, I wanted to have grand adventures full of excitement and action. But that has never happened because such adventures don't usually come about for anyone outside of fiction. And in real life, such an adventure would probably be more of a hard, painful, frightening experience as opposed to an exciting, thrilling experience like it seems in movies. So I'm not about to try to make some kind of adventure happen for myself like that.

I guess that just about sums it up.

Oh, wait... Also I wanted to be a cool, tough martial arts fighter. I took martial arts lessons for 7 years. But all the while, like I mentioned above, I was an ultra-late bloomer so I was always SOOOO much smaller and weaker than every other guy around to the point where my martial arts training wasn't even worth attempting to apply. So always just acted like a little dork and never got in a fight. Now that I'm grown up, getting in fights isn't something I want to get involved in because adults go to jail for that. Plus, adults don't usually get in fights anyways unless it's something really really serious.

So basically, I've never accomplished anything that I dreamed about when I was younger. Although, getting some of my creative writings/drawings published is at least an ever-present possibility.

I thought that it would be fun to own a bar one day. I went to school for hospitality management and the more I learned about owning a bar, the more I realized that it is just about the worst business anyone could ever own due to liability issues and low profit margins.

Right now I am a salesman at a hotel-- a job that I like but it is not a dream job or anything. It pays the bills and it is interesting and fun most of the time.

What I always would want to do is hit the lottery and move to a stress free environment.
