Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

What does the message "In order to protect you, your account has been suspended for up to 48 hours".

My account will not let me send or recieve any email attachments (at all) when this message pops up "In order to protect you, your account has been suspended for up to 48 hours".

I can't have this problem. I need a reliable email sevice.

I'm going to have to change providers if this isn't fixed immediately.

You may have been sent a spam that is trying to get you mad enough to click on it.

Call your internet provider and see what is going on.

    I found this for you:

I have the direct number for Yahoo customer service. (Not easy to find) but they will probably tell you to e-mail their security team. My account has been hacked and the hacker changed the info used to verify my account. Customer service is: (408) 349-1572 (not toll free).

If you wish to e-mail the security team you will need:

    1. your Yahoo ID

    2. an alternate e-mail address where they can correspond with you.

    mail to:

    account-security@dc.yahoo-inc.com

Someone may have tried to get into your account. If they do not know what your password is, and they try multiple guesses and they are unsuccessful, the e-mail takes notice that maybe someone who is not the owner of the e-mail account is trying to get into it by guessing the password. the e-mail gets suspended to hopefully ward off that person from trying it again.

The only time I saw this msg. is when the attachment was considered offensive or a copyright violation. Now I use Google Mail, and never saw it again.

Maybe someone is tryin to hack into your account so it may be a more reliable service than you are giving it credit for. Why don't you try giving them a ring and they can explain the problem to you.

Hmm...it could be that somebody has been trying to get into your account. sometimes accounts are automatically suspended if someone tries that.
