SEC, best conference, weakest non conference schedule?

I keep hearing these people saying how weak the Big Ten is this year. Especially their non conference. While i'm not one to argue this, the SEC has by far and away, the weakest non conference schedule year in and year out. How many times do you see teams like LSU, Florida, and Auburn play nobody's(although i will give some credit to LSU for playing Va Tech this year). This week is a prime example. UL Monroe v. Alabama(Bama lost btw), Florida Atlantic v. Florida. Then last week you have LSU v. La Tech. Here are the rest of the non conference foes for the SEC: Western and Eastern Kentucky, Memphis, Troy, Richmond, Louisiana Lafaeytte, Western Carolina, South Carolina State, Mid Tenn., New Mexico State, Gardiner Webb(who?), North Texas, UAB, Chattanooga, Florida International, Northwestern State, and Tennessee Tech. I mean, seriously, and some of these games are way past mid season. So before you SEC fans get on your high horse about your conf. schedule, look at your non conf.

hahaha..great question..You are about to get a bunch of answers about their conference schedule being so good that they have to schedule cream puffs. Im sick of all the SEC propaganda, its exhausting.

The SEC doesn't need to play tough non-conference opponents. Almost every single team in the SEC plays 5 or 6 ranked opponents.

How about your 2 great Big 10 schools play someone ranked other than each other? The only teams that Ohio State and Michigan play are each other.

I'm sure there are some teams over in the Big East that would LOVE to play Ohio State, if they are up for the task.

And I believe that last year a SEC team showed the world just how great Ohio State is against real competition in the BCS championship game.

How can you attack other conferences when the big 10 is the biggest perps of weak nonconference schedules

Ohio State.. .. Akron Kent State Youngstown state Washington..

Indiana... Ball State Akron Indiana State Western Michigan

Wisconsin..Northern Illinois Citadel Unlv Washington State

Penn State... Florida international Notre Dame Buffalo Temple

Iowa.. Northern Illinois Western michigan Iowa State Syracuse (at least they had some bigger names)

Michigan State.. UAB Bowling Green Pitt Notre Dame

Purdue... Toledo Eastern Illinois Central Michigan Notre Dame

Northwestern... Northeastern Nevada Duke Eastern Michigan

Minnesota Bowling Green Miami(ohio) Florida Atlantic North Dakota State

Now I will give credit to Michigan and Illinois for each playing 1 tough game (they both lost)

However out of the WHOLE conference we have 2 tough nonconference games

THAT is why big 10 gets the flak

Now I am no fan of the SEC but lets give credit where credit is due

You attack Auburn but they played South Florida

    Georgia plays Georgia Tech

Tennesse went to California to play a highly ranked bears team

Florida plays Florida State every year

    South Carolina plays Clemson

    Alabama played Florida State

    Kentucky playes Louisville

    Missisippi state played West virginia

    Missisippi played Missouri

Yes there were some soft games

HOWEVER they did play more then a few tough games the big 10 however played Hellen Keller school of blind teams almost EVERY game!!

    There is no camparison here.

cambo stole my words, he answered it perfectly

they will ramble on aobut how Tennessee played Cal too, which Cal turned out to be overrated, just like every SEC school too

another thing, notice that these weaker opponents are scoring points against them too. the SEC schools are allowing these teams to put up 20+ against some bad teams

Ohio State may have a weak conference schedule, but nobody put up more than a TD

I always get a kick out of people trying to make an argument about SEC schedules when year in and year out SEC teams are all listed as playing the toughest schedules. And some people think they should play tougher schedules.... This lacks common sense.

LSU has a record of 5-1 against ranked teams. Who else in college football can claim they even played 6 ranked teams? Besides other SEC teams.

All the "big" teams are probably too scared to play us. I give credit to VT for having the guts to play an SEC game.

I agree with what is said above. SEC teams are over-ranked, and have defense that isn't worth ****.
