Macaroni and cheese and green bean casserole are big favorites in my family. We always use the Campbell's recipe (which I think is printed on the can):

You could also experiment with a squash casserole:

Or you could try adding new ingredients to a stuffing, such as apples or cranberries.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving! :)

An easy way for turkey is to get a turkey breast (4 pounder with bone still ) and throw it in the crock pot. It makes a juicy moist turkey!! I like to just use stove-top stuffing, green bean cassarole (my favorite! YUM! Can never make enough), canned cranberry sauce, Yams from the can are easy, pumpkin pie with whipped cream and then have deviled eggs too if you want.
Pretty easy. I made all that last year after I got off work at 7 am. Put turkey in the crock pot, napped then got up and cooked. Done in about 30 minutes!
Best of luck, and Happy Thanksgiving.

Stuffing is the best. For years I made my stuffing "mom's way" then got into the cooking shows and got various ideas from Paula Deen and Emeril. I have made it my own, it has new things like mushrooms, water chestnuts, sage sausage, and the standard stuffing items. I tried a variety of stuffers found that Mrs Cubbisons seasoned is the best by far.
Take a chance and try adding something new to a small cup size batch and cook it before you stuff your bird in the oven. Remember, if you fry your turkey you still need stuffing/dressing on the side!

Classic mashed potatoes and country-style gravy. So delicious to scoop up with your turkey!

I love the sweet potatoes. Mine are made with a bit of a twist. I mash them with oregon chai syrup and milk and bake them with marshmallows & hazel nuts sprinkled on top... they taste so yummy!

I like dressing because it's something we only have at Thanksgiving. We make it slightly different every year, so that makes it special too!

mashed potatoes and gravy are my fav!
if i could change anything, i'd make them have less carbs.
edit: try adding aour cream in them, it makes them better.

Stuffing and i wouldn't change anything about it because then it wouldn't be my favorite.
