I am going to assume something different than the traditional BIBLICAL definition, given by paperback quite correctly for a Hebrew Israelite is being asked here.

There is a fairly new religion that is comprised of largely African American adherents (but some other non-American blacks) that claim a form of replacement theology to Judaism and identify themselves as the "real" remnant nation Israel. Some of them ( apparently a minority) see Jews as bretheren, others view Jews ( according to what some adherents have told me personally ) as "frauds" and not the real Israel. I have been personally "cursed" by more than one who claimed to be an adherent of this religion they deem the only true one of Israel.

Note the following from the link below: The Anti-Defamation League has criticized the Nation of Yahweh and sects of the African Hebrew Israelite Nation of Jerusalem, stating, "In 1987, ADL reported on Black sects holding these views, such as the Yahwehs and the Original African Hebrew Israelite Nation of Jerusalem. Today, this form of Black supremacy is promoted on the Web by the 12 Tribes of Israel site, which cites hundreds of Biblical passages to prove that Blacks are the children of Israel and whites the Satanic offspring of Esau."[9]

I find it sad that rather than forging a shared connection to Jews, so many of them try to demonize the very people they wish to identify themselves as belonging to!

Here is a Wikipedia article to describe them.

It is a sect of Christianity, so it is not a form of Judaism.

I'll also give a link to help compare the differences of beliefs for you to see on your own.

    I hope this helps. Shalom

We're the same nation, just a different name. :) The ancient Hebrew were Jewish.

There is a lot that differentiates them. However, the main distinction is that an Israeli Jew was born in Israel while other Jews are born outside Israel.
