Feelings in the first few weeks of pregnancy?

I learned that I'm pregnant last week and am about 41/2 weeks. I knew even before the test, really. Part of that was from uterine cramps and nipple soreness. But the past couple of days, those symptoms have been very slight. No spotting or anything. Is it normal for symptoms of pregnancy to come and go? Do you have days where you feel great and basically not pregnant and others that you feel like pooh? (This morning I felt a bit nauseous and headachy, so maybe I'm getting morning sickness as my new symptom?)

I guess it's just nerve-wracking as I don't have an OB appointment for another couple of weeks!

Yup! In early pregnancy I hardly felt pregnant! I had no morning sickness or anything! After you start to feel your little one kick it will start to settle in but even now, I'm still in denial haha.

I remember my breasts were really sore, like the soreness you get during PMS but 20 times that. They hurt without even touching them. Then that went away after some time and I think I didn't feel much of anything, really, until the morning sickness kicked in (which some people get and some don't). I never had any spotting early on either. I want to say that the morning sickness kicked in after maybe 6 weeks or so, and lasted for a few months. I remember by 6 mos I felt pretty good! No longer sick or anything, and I had a good amount of energy, but I couldn't be on my feet for hours at a time or I'd get dizzy.

I'd say what you are experiencing is pretty typical.

after having 3 girls, I will tell you all bets are off. One min you can be up and another down. Some things come and go others are with you everyday. It just depends. You'll cry for no reason, get angry, be happy just all over the place. But nothing is better or more rewarding than having a child. It's the best and the worst thing you will ever go thru all wrapped up in one. Congrats, and enjoy.

YEP, you hit the nail on the head. The symtoms do come and go, all through the day and night, and some days you won't feel pregnant at all, while other days you feel horrible. That's how it goes! At least for the first trimester. After that things start to level out some. Good luck & congratulations!
