Why are there so many police in the washington dc today?

I mean i was on my way home from school... And like THERE ARE POLICE SUVS AND MOTORCYCLES AND A POLICE HELICOPTER!!! I was like did who died that was so importanT!??!?

    It MAY have something to do with the HIGH crime numbers.

    Could it be the start of National Donut Worship week?

    Could it be that they were expecting an angry bunch of air travelers storming TSA after they heard that TSA is planning to detain for at least 5 minutes any Thanksgiving air passenger whose carry-on luggage is not neatly packed?
