Guys-is it better to be a friend or a lover?
I'm in love with a guy who says he loves someone else and has made a commitment to her. Yet he treats her like dirt and treats me like royalty. He helps me with my home projects, but won't turn a hand at home. He goes out of his way to call and talk with me, but ignores her. He says he's attracted to me, and has feelings for me, but "mostly as friends". And yes, the sexual chemistry between us is definitely there, though he won't act on it. He tells me it's better to be his friend, and thinks this is normal. I think he's got things backwards.
I am confused. Can you shed any light on this?

Well for this guy it's best to step back just be his friend and keep it at that.

It depends on what kind of commitment he has made to her. if it is marraige, then you are better off moving on. if they are just dating, then it sounds like either you aren't seeing his relationship with objectively or he has some serious internal conflicts keeping him there. It may be safer for him to have you at a distance rather than in a real relationship. Who knows? Maybe one day he will break up with her and start dating you and treating you like dirt too.

Right.I think you have to forget about this guy.He sounds as absolutely jerk who doesn't know what he wants.If you go forward and become more than friends it could become worse.Even you could be one of all those girls who get pregnant by some irresponsible guys and then have been left alone crying.If you don't want to be one of them run away.Good luck.

You love that guy but he doesn't. Simply its mean that you are going to trouble yourself. He love another one. How you can say after leaving her he would not leave you? He just likes you as we can like anybody due to his/her good behavior, friendly nature or some other quality, but it doesn't mean that we love him/her. You should just keep on friendship with him. Don't try to make so involve with him as it could be sorrow full for you in future. I wish for your good decision.
