please only girls look at this...?
First of all, for about a year I've been using Nair to help clear up the bikini area of anything unwanted, because I mean, what guy wants to see a bush coming out of a bikini bottom?? Anyways, since I've been using Nair, a rash or irritation of any kind has developed, for which I'm very grateful of, but 2 nights ago I decided to use my Nair for the bikini area over the WHOLE area, and left it on for 10 minutes (the maximum time amount if you didn't know). Well, that didn't get it all off, so i took the razor to it and shaved the rest off. Today though I was in a dressing room changing and had some very low rise underwear on, so i happened to see that a lot of little red bumps had come up, and the hair's already growing back! I was talking to one of my friends about the whole shaving thing (basically all my friends do it) and she said it would itch, but didn't say anything about bumps! So my question is, did I do something wrong? Was it the type of Nair I used? Or does the first time
always look like this. Any help is welcomed! :-\

your probablly using to much nair. you should only use it if theres a lot of hairs. dont worry. the bumps will go away after a day or two.

I have used Nair before and didn't like it. Al it really does is more or less disolve the hair at the skin level. So, regrowth will generally happen quickly, just like when you shave. The red bumps are likely irritation from your razor, either it's not sharp enough, you're shaving too often, you're possibly not using enough shaving cream/gel while you're shaving, or your skin just needs a break. Either way, I prefer waxing. It may sound harsh, but it works well, is super quick and the hair takes quite a bit longer to come back. You don't have to do it nearly as often as when you shave or use Nair. If you go to a professional for a bikini wax, it's not bad at all and is over quickly. Doing at home is something I don't necessarily recommend, you can easily get the wax too hot and run the risk of burning yourself "down there"...ouch. Beauty Supply stores usually sell waxing strips that you could try, so you wouldn't have to worry about the wax heat. Still I would recommend going to a salon that will do it for you.

Shaving immediately after using Nair might have been pretty irritating to your skin. Next time, skip the Nair, trim your hair with little scissors so that it is short, and then shave (with shaving cream)! There are some shaving creams made for sensitive skin - you might want to try those if the bumps happen again.

Your area is more sensitive down there. You probably shouldn't use Nair for the future because it has all those chemicals in it. Also...it says 3 minutes max use. Razor bumps are normal...next time try waxing.

I shave the bikini area, but when I shave, I use bikini zone shaving cream and then when I get out of the shower I use just bikini zone cream. It really helps with the bumps and most of the time I don't even get any bumps. Hope this helps!!

shaving isn't all that bad, your skin just changes a little and can be sensitive the first time. Also, if you are allergic to nair don't use it

i personally just shave . . .
you need to use moisturizing shave gel or shave gel for bikini area that Noxzema makes. . .
after that, you need to put on bikini zone bump minimizer on after shaving . . . its a cream sold by shaving stuff
and it works great for me. . . . i dont mess around with that messy nair stuff ! ick . . . .

maybe you are alergic ? you can get small razors for your bakini area and also at wal mart or k mart or any drug store you can get a cream to put on that prevents those bumps or if you get bad red bumps like me go to a local sex shop and you can get a cream that is in lotion for that you put on when you get dressed and it works GREAT and it doesnt cost a whole lot

It was shaving that did this to you. Razors can irritate your skin so what you have are razor bumps.
