Can the military occupational specialty (MOS) 97E interrogator translate directly into a police detective job?
Does interrogator school count as training enough to get your foot in the door in a metro police dept or dept of public safety as a detective?
Does anyone have any direct experience with this, or know someone who was in the same situation? (In other words, I'm not looking for uninformed opinions--I already have those.) ;-)
Thanks.

Not "directly."
Police departmetns don't hire detecives directly. You have to spend some time as an officer first.
However, the experience will helpp with admission to Police training and will factor ingot your record as a police officer when under consideration for a detective spot.

No, Most Police Departments dont want someone who has been trained a different way in Interrogation of Suspects. And you would still need to attend the Municipalities Academy
