It's very easy to wash a ShihTsu. It's such a small pet, you can wash it right in the sink very easily and rinse it down with a sprayer if your sink has one. If not, just the faucet.
Towel dry your net pet and blow dry it (not too hot or cold setting). Brush it, and it will be clean and fresh. You can buy doggy conditioner and that will make it even easier to brush out........Good luck!

It can be, but you're probably better off bringing it to a groomer periodically to keep the hair growth under control and trimmed nicely.
If you bathe at home, make sure you use a dog-specific shampoo (or at least a baby shampoo - human shampoos can be too irritating and drying). If the hair is long, brush it out before bathing, because if you have mats and knots, getting it wet and then rubbing them dry will make them worse (warm water + soap + agitation + fur = felt!!).
Also, because the Shih Tzu is a short-nosed breed, be *very* careful when washing and rinsing the face. If you decide to blow-dry your dog, do not blow air directly in the dog's face.
But in all honesty, if I had a Shih Tzu, I'd find a good groomer and make a standing appointment, then only worry about bathing between appointments if the dog got really dirty.

Yes, it is. Before the bath, you have to make sure your dog's been thoroughly brushed. Bathing them when they're matted is going to really tighten the mats, so you need to brush them out first.
Bath with luke warm water, being sure you rinse all the shampoo out really well.
Then you need to dry with a blow dryer - warm setting. If you dry and brush simultaneously, it makes the drying much quicker and your dog's coat will turn out beautiful.

If you do, make sure you blow dry her and brush her out thoroughly immediately after the bath- air drying and no brushing is a huge no-no! You'll end up with a matted dog that has to be shaved bare. :-(
