Do you remember Rock and Roll radio?
Back when the radio business wasn't so over run by corporations!
Being a teen in the 70's the station I listened to was free form...not as corporate as today!

Back when radio was good and wasn't owned by huge corperations that told dj's what they could and could not play. Huge radio conglomerates are as bad as the FCC alomost like a bunch of Hitler's. Now with the corporations radio stations are changing formats more often than people change underwear.
I also remember Rock n' Roll Radio by the Ramones

I remember when everything switched to FM, AM used to be the format everyone listened too.
You could call a radio station and ask them to play a song no matter if it was a hit or not and it would get played.
If it weren't for request lines then we wouldn't have some of the classic's we have today, because how would classic radio stations know which songs to play?
This is what hurts radio stations today. NO REQUESTS.
Program Directors take their orders from companies who are wanting to move products, so PD's take all of the power away from DJ's and the listeners.
DJ's are a dieng breed. Today 1 DJ can run 3 or 4 stations.

I wish I could too. It's been corporate since the 70s, dude.
I Really wish I could've experiened radio in the 60s & earlier. When the *djs* had the power to play what they wanted. You got WAY more of an eclectic mix for it.
