Here is a great list of the great job the SEC did outside of there Conference.

1. Tennesee loses to Cal 45-31

2. LSU beats Virginia Tech 48-7

3. Auburn loses to South Florida 26-23

4. Alabama loses to Florida St 21-14

5. Alabama loses to UL Monroe 21-14

6. Mississippi St loses to West Virginia 38-13

7. Mississippi loses to Missouri 38-25

But they also had numerous big wins against Troy, Louisiana Laffayette, Southern Miss, Florida International, Memphis and Podonk St. Wow the mighty SEC was very very strong don't you think

But the SEC fans were the first to point out Ohio State playing Akron and Y' Town State. At least the Buckeyes won those games.

Good point, and I wonder if many SEC fans are going to respond OR if they are even logged in today.

What's pathetic, LSU will still be top 12, if not top 10.

what about UGA vs oklahoma state or kentucky vs louisville, Auburn vs KState etc? did any other conference play that many NC games against teams that were at some point in the top 10? i don't think it proves anything either way. i think this weekend Georgia and Florida will win so you might as well put those too. Clemson will probably beat south carolina so put that if you want.... then put up the other conferences NC record. put up the big 12's record!

hey mississipi hung in with a team that is in the top 5 and might win the Big 12. no SEC fan thinks that ole miss, Miss State, or Alabama are among the best teams in the country. saying most SEC fans think that is ridiculous.

The SEC must have a rule that all 12 teams must play the same defense at least 80% of the time. I spent two months in Birmingham this year and I swear all SEC teams look a like after awhile, so of course they will play each other tough, its not like they have to think, its all a system. Just like Texas High school football......the play book is half a page and everyone in the state has a copy.

Now we all know that Out of Conference doesn't matter. It only matters when they play each other because they are so great. Just like the Big East is so terrible, even though they do great Out-of-Conference.

    to tavius c

a conference that "they all beat each other" doesent mean

that they are all GOOD teams

they could be all BAD teams and still beat each other

    or just all average teams

just makes the SEC the most COMPETITIVE conference

not the best 12 teams in the country like most SEC fans believe

Florida plays FSU today, SC plays Clemson, and UGA plays GT today so that will factor in too. Good job exposing Bama,Ole Miss, and Miss. St, they had me fooled

None of us will see eye to eye on this one. Click on each conference name to see conference bowl results-http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/conferences

I think this is a good measure of conference strength every year.

    My conference rankings:

    1) Big 12 (Obviously some bias there, but there they do have 3 top 10 teams)

    2) SEC

    3) Pac 10

Yeah, when you look at those games it does look like a tough year for the SEC. But, wait, every year is a tough year for the SEC.

Thats not what makes a good conference. a strong conference has all of the teams in that conference beat eachother its a good thing that you have a conference where nobody has less than 2 losses. that means the teams in that conference murder each other.
