How do I program my ELEMENT 32" HD tv?

Please help, I hooked up tv with HD cable vision box, in TV channel info shows, (CBS, NBC etc.), but no picture & no sound, tv is just blank, please tell me what I am not hooking up right.

    How can anybody tell you what you did wrong, if you don't tell us how you hooked things up and what settings you made in the TV and the box?
