These are the truck licence details for New South Wales, which once we have acquired, allow us to drive interstate.

LR....Light rigid, small bus or truck (2 axels)

MR....Medium Rigid truck (2 axels ie bus)

    HR....Heavy Rigid truck (3 axels)

    HC....Heavy articulated vehicle, heavy combustion

    MC....Road train or B-double multi-combination

For all of the above you have to hold a class 'c' licence, which is a normal car licence without provisions, for at least 1 year. For anything larger than a MR you have to of held a MR or LR for 2 years.

Overseas licences are all transferred to the equivalent in Oz, but you will need proof of licence with the number of years you have held it.

    Good luck!

Kia Ora Cuz! You get your car license first bro Then you go to MR--Medium Rigid which is a small truck with only 2 wheels each side on one axle at the rear and lightweight Then you get your HR--Heavy Rigid--2 wheels each side but 2 axles (4 wheels all up at the back) and a bit heavier. With me so far? --Choice! Then you start to get serious and play with the big boys! HC--Heavy Combination which is the semi trailer bro. Now cuz, you really wanna get into the big leagues you go MC Naaaggh cuz, not master of ceremonies at your sisters wedding--Multi Combinataion--The holy of holies dude!!!!!!!!!!!!! Road Train! Then its hammer down--along with a lot of chemicals to stay awake and Nullabor Plain--here I is!!!!! Hope the info helps cuz, guess we Kiwis gotta stick togetha eh? And we do--when two of us hit each other head on at 2am stoned off our trees trying to meet an impossible deadline in our rigs! Welcome to Oz bro! AWESOME!!!!
