    remember, this is coming from a high school teacher. i hate tricky, small minded questions like this. no wonder kids hate literature when bone headed educators make up questions like this, pretending like it is important. ismaros and the cicones refer to the same entity. cicones are the people and ismaros is their city. hence "c" is correct.

    please don't ever feel bad doing poorly on multiple choice tests. they were designed for the convenience of the teacher. they are made to be corrected by a machine.

    it's much better, and a reflection of the teacher's respect for his/her students, that students are asked questions that make them think and write. you may not want to hear that, as a student, but multiple choice questions are part of the problem with the american school system. if a teacher makes you write out your ideas, then that same teacher has to take the time to read what you have written. that takes more time and involvement that just running the scan(m)tron through the noisy corrector in the library.
