That is a really interesting question, because the relationship can go in either direction.

Sometimes innovation stimulates tourism. For example, the EPCOT Center and the Eiffel tower became instant tourist attractions.

But it isn't necessarily so. If tourism is caused by an old-fashioned atmosphere, or by unspoiled nature, innovation could harm it. The only good example I can think of at the moment is that some towns in Austria that used to get more tourism lost it due to modernization. I'm sure there are others.

Innovation is being creative tourist sites need to be creatively crafted for people to want to go there. Also everything about tourism needs to be creative to entice tourists and this should be an ongoing process that's where innovation comes in
