Would it be plausible to be a physics major and a music/theology minor?
I don't know what the rules are with having minors, but I know it's hard to double major in things which are very different. Also, when I say plausible, I mean realistically. I'm sure it's possible to do it, but if it requires 26 hours of homework a night, then that's obviously too much.
Any help is appreciated. Also, any college suggestions?
I'm located in North Texas, if that helps.
Yeah, both of the minors are just interests of mine, but physics is what I'd like to pursue a career in.

I'm gonna be honest with you.
It won't be easy. Science majors (like physics) tend to be VERY VERY structured. Adding an un-related minor will REALLY restrict your choices for exploratory courses. I suggest that if you DO choose to add on a minor that you stay in very close contact with an adviser for BOTH concentrations because they can make sure that you are not straying too far from where you need to be as far as classes that you need to take. Straying can cause you to be delayed in graduation because you may not get all the credits/courses you need to do so.
Since they are just interests, maybe you may just want to take a couple of classes in one or both instead of officially declaring a minor. That route could be a lot less stressful and taking a music or theology course while you're taking a particularly difficult science course could be both a stress reliever AND a GPA booster. Still... run it by your advisor.
It's possible, theoretically, as you said. But plausible? You just have to be very disciplined to do it.
I hope this helps.

Physics, music, art and language are all math based. It is indeed possible to have a physics major and music minor. A music/theology minor may be unusual, though. I've never heard of doubling a minor before. My answer is academic though (pun intended), since the requirements will vary depending upon the college you select. Any performance-based music major or minor will require a lot of practice time.
Select a college with strong departments in your interests. Since I don't know where you're based, I haven't any specific recommendations. Best of luck!

it could be done...it would actually be the perfect combination since science majors take up a lot alot alot of time and so a music minor would take your mind off the science and be more enjoyable and minors don't have as many requirements so it'll be lighter...a note about minors though is that they don't do much excpet give a small taste of the new field...you can't really apply it towards a career or anything in the future per se... alot of people find them to be rather pointless, but if you have a passion for it, go for it...i know a girl who majored in physiological sciences and minored in afro-american studies cuz it was a part of who she is...
as far as colleges go, i have no idea where you are located so it's hard to give suggestions
