Any tips on breaking artist's block?

I'm trying to create some artist trading cards and I keep coming up with ideas that I realize are imitations of others' cards!

A change of scenery is prescribed. Go for a day or afternoon to somewhere or anywhere different. Treat yourself. Go to the movies. Have an outing with a few friends. Do lots of laughing. Dance, let your hair down, anything to lighten the load you are under at the moment. Self-pampering, shopping, eat what you like, not what you should. Break a few rules (not big bad rules, just the ones you put on yourself). Take time out. Enjoy yourself, refresh yourself. Come back and find yourself ready to start the brain working at full steam again. And you'll be surprised where you will find inspiration while you are having fun and time out. Enjoy yourself and I'm sure this will help you.

I hate artist's block, but it's possible to get through it. First of all, just sitting at the desk won't help. Do things that get the "creative juices" flowing, like going outside, playing an instrument, reading a book, listening to some music or look at some photos for inspiration.

    Hi:

Try maybe going to a museum to take a look at some wonderful examples of paintings - usually that refreshes me a lot. You might also try art type cross training - if you normally paint, see if you can find a pottery class that you can go to. It also helps me to belong to some great art societies, and by all means, check out the wonderful online artist community wetcanvas.com.

    Hope this helps.

I like doodle or look at photos (not artwork) to get inspiration.

I'm not sure about your project...are these trading cards about famous artists or trading cards that are artistic? If they are about specific artists, it might be cool to emulate their styles for each card. Hope that helps.

Taking a mini trip or reading, looking at photographs.
