It says to use properties of rational exponents to simplify the expression. Write with positive exponents.

(y-6/7)-1/3

The y is sort of under the 6/7 in the question?!

    The Y is under the 6/7? you mean the 6/7 is an exponent? is that a negative 6/7 or minus 6/7? and a negative 1/3? Can you spell out your problem, I'd be able to help better.

    Um I guess that it looks a little weird to me because of it being on a computer but I think they are asking to use exponents to cancel out some numbers to make it simpler.
