Why are the prices so much different like:
Window Vista Home Premium= $200 something
Window Vista Home Premium Upgrade= $50

There is really no difference between the two disks, they have the same files. The difference is in the licensing. You used to be able to do a clean install of Windows using an upgrade disk as long as you had an older Windows disk. Vista made that harder to do, but it is possible. Check the link.

The above posters are incorrect. The upgrade CD will work if you currently have a Windows XP system installed. You DON'T need to already have Vista.

upgrade is for like Vista basic to vista premium, so unless you have vista basic your going to have to get the 200 one. If you have XP i suggest you stick with it though.

to upgrade you need a the previous version. so you probable need Vista home. my advice buy leopard or go to linux
