How many of you miss the good NFL stadium names? I hate these cheesy sponsored stadium names. Drives me nuts!!

I miss staduim names like RFK, Jack Murphy Stadium, and Candlestick Park. It gives the stadium character.

All stadiums should have real names right?

I hate it too. College football started this with their idiotic dot com bowls. It was only a matter of time before the NFL wanted in on that money. Even though Qwest field is a nice stadium, I miss the Kingdome. Give it a name to withstand the ages not some flavor of the year fortune 500 name. Let them sponsor the fricken hot dogs.

me too, Jacobs field or "the Jake" in baseball might have a new name soon, I'm not for it at all. I know it will give the Tribe the money to keep big players but still..

I miss Cleveland Municipal Stadium, I loved that place.

I like that it's Cleveland Browns stadium

I was mad when they changed Gund Arena to Quicken Loans arena or the "Q" as it is nicknamed.

College we have Ohio Stadium or the "horse shoe" obviously because of the shape.

even my alma mater is the Glass bowl, which makes sense since Toledo is the Glass City I like when they go along with the city like that.

I mis names like Candlestick,Mile High, Three Rivers, or Riverfront. These corporate names are just not appealing. Everything has to have a sponsor now, look at bowl games in college, you have the Nokia Sugar Bowl, Tostitos Fiest Bowl, some names might not sound as bad as others.

I don't mind the name Gillette Stadium but u make a good point. They name their stadium after their top sponsor. But there a few with good names yet, like Ralph Wilson Stadium, named after the guy who owns the Bills.

Well, if selling the sponsorship gets my team better players, or in any way keeps prices under control... they can call my stadium anything they want.

I do agree that the old names had a better ring than Viagra Field at Mile High co-sponsored by Depends.

I miss them too, but it's all about the $$$...

dude. I am 100% with you... corporate sponsership sucks! but its all about those big bucks... i live in PHX and we have University of Phoenix Stadium... how shi**y is that? I just call it UP stadium...

Being a niners faithfull... i do miss candlestick.. but for me, it will always be the stick

Hubert H. Humphry dome will always be the same and the packers and Bears will always be the same...i think the only original stadiums belong to the NFC north

Dude I hear ya....corporate america and "The Man" are disruptin the moral fabric of this fine country.

pretty soon NFL players are gonna look like nascar drivers with sponsor stickers all over thier helmets and like 20 min worth of sponsor plugs during each interview.

Yea, its pretty dumb...im glad that we still have soldier field here!

However, I think it is cool how some cities have companies that the cities are known for naming the fields like Ford Field. Pittsburgh too, but it would have been better if U.S. Steel named the field.
