What happened to the History Channel?
Tonight the History Channel is running a show on finding Bigfoot. Bigfoot! A few nights ago it was the Bermuda Triangle and last night it was aliens and Area 51.
When did the History Channel stop talking about history and start running garbage like this?

Hello,
I do not know why but I do not see why we have Miami CSI and JAG on our history channel in Canada. You'll never believe it but over the last two months on our "Lone Star" or western channel they have shown movies from Star ship Troopers to The Devil's own and Pitch Black. Sigh, I think it is about time for a house cleaning in both countries don't you think. For the love of God there have been well over 20,000 western movies made as of the 80's and how they can run out of material I do not know!
Cheers,

Hello,The History Channel, like every other moneymaking Television channel, sells what the public audience wants to see. I don't see any reason not to show Bigfoot, Area 51, or the Bermuda Triangle. The Discovery Channel has these same documentaries. I have watched The Crusades on both channels but how many inventive ways are there to produce a show like this for great ratings? Why have a show on the Pilgrims or the Salem witches such as Three coins for Sister Sarah which no one is going to watch. These two shows were really good. A&E-Arts and Entertainment very seldom puts on the classy shows like it used to such as Tenko, about the Japanese World War II prison camps.A show lost in the underground boxes. If you look around all the channels on Television, you are watching what the majority of people wish to see. Invasion was a fun show and no one could save the show like Jericho. It is always wise to say be careful what you watch. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Quite some time ago I believe. Very few if any channels now, fulfill they originally announced purpose. Just another sign of the times: sensationalism instead genuine quality of content.
