I was told that Canadian tourists are treated better than Americans?

Being Canadian I've had Brits say "oh, you're not American are you?" & when we answered, "No, we're Canadians" their faces light up and their whole attitudes change! I even know some Americans that were recomeded to wear maple leaves to make their travelling easier :)

Canadians are welcome everywhere, unfortunately Americans have a reputation for being impolite or stupid...

I've heard that too. From what I've been told there are alot of Europeans who can't stand Americans and consider them to be rude etc. Because of that many Canadians will sew a maple leaf patch onto their backpacks because we don't want to accidentally be confused with Americans. It probably depends where you will be going. The Americans and their wars haven't made them too popular in many parts of the world while us Canadians tend to mind our own business.

the only reason Canada doesn't get into wars is because the US does it for them. They have a big brother to keep them safe if need be. If Canada didn't have the US as a neighbor they would be in deep sh*t when/if war time comes for that country. I bet if Canada ever went to war with another country there would be more American troops there than Canadian.
