I have a Cockatiel,a Lovebird, and a Parakeet .My Family is hinting on getting me another bird, any suggestions?
My Birds get along great together, they eat, play, and hang out all day together, and we constantly have them around us outside of their cage.Their is always someone home to take care of them, and they are fed well, and healthy.I don't want another Budgie or Lovebird, because I want to continue the bond I have with each of these Birds, and I don't really want Babies. So,anybody have any ideas on Birds I can suggest to my family that will probably get along with the ones I have?
I'm thinking of staying in the medium to smaller Bird catagory because I feel I'm (we) are not ready for a larger Bird,no matter how much I think I want a Quaker or African Grey!Maybe next year for those!
Thanks Marge,I knew you were out ther somewehere!
I'm not feeling overwhemed with the amount of birds that I have, there are four adults here with different work schedules and my Birdies get plenty of attention. At this point I'm feeling the more ,the merrier.Bird noise and messes just make us laugh! And hand training is so rewarding,so I really don't feel I have or will have 'too many',we all have room here to love more!

If you want to step up a notch, I would go ahead and get a baby Congo African gray. They are easy to handle and no more trouble than a parakeet. I have had several and they all got along great with other birds, even a stubborn Macaw that I have that none of the other birds like.
I noticed several people suggested Sun Conures. While one of the prettiest birds on earth, and one of the sweetest as long as you are holding it or it is on your shoulder, your family will hate you very soon if you get one. Most birds are extra vocal at dusk and dawn. A Sun makes a horrible screech all day long if not getting attention, which is impossible to do at all times. I took in a Sun as a refugee. It was tame as it could be, but made more noise than my 2 Macaws. PLUS, more times than not, when the Sun cranked up, even the normally quiet birds joined the chorus. I was afraid the neighbors were going to start shooting through my windows!
Back to the question......if you get a Gray, you will never regret it and will have a friend for life. Just make sure that everyone in your household is in on the rearing from day one so the bird won't bond to just one person.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!

My friend got a Maroon Belly or Green Cheek Conure recently that seems to get along well with her other birds.
From personal experience though, if you want it to get on well with the others, Senegals and Quakers both are very territorial.

Honestly, it kinda sounds like you have your hands full already. But, if you really think that you can handle getting another bird, I would go with something smaller if I were you. But, again, if you don't think you can handle caring for another bird, just tell your family that you already have enough birds to care for, and, they will understand.
I hope that I helped! Thanks,

Sun Conures are nice. So are Senegal Parrots. Do you want to stay with the small birds, or are you thinking of a larger bird?

for smaller birds, get either a cockatiel or a conure; they're both soo much fun. but if u do decide 2 get a bigger bird, go with a severe macaw, a breed of mini macaw, bcause the beak isn't so huge & scary+ they're really fun beautiful birds

Have you thought of getting a Parrotlet? They are small infact they are the smallest parrot in the world but they have great personalities and are a joy to have. Google them there is lots of info on them out there.
