How can I make my voice louder and project more?

I am a 1st year teacher and I am having trouble with voice projection. I have a small quiet voice and the kids do not take me seriously because my voice is not assertive and powerful.

Do some humming exercises in the car. Get your lips to tickle as you hum (don't hum through your nose), then open it up to a vowel. This sets up your placement to make your voice project more. Repeat these two steps to find a nice place in your head to project your voice. This makes you louder and also keeps you from straining your voice.

I had that problem early in school when I had to do public speaking what had helped me was that about the same time I had joined a choir outside of school. I found the more that I sang with the choir the more I was able to project my voice.

Also some people just don't naturally have an authoritative voice and the only solution is to take voice lessons as the politicians do

I learned to "project" my voice in high school drama.

The director insisted we imagine "the little old lady with bad ears on the back row" when we talked.

You have to remember that you are talking to those in the far corners, not the kids next to you.

why not use a small microphone and wear it around your neck like a necklace so there is need to try to scream or trouble your throat....hope it helps..I have seen in my son's school teacher using it and I was given too when I volunteered to teach something..
