Seeking recommendations for Transexual/Transgender fiction or memoirs?
I am deeply offended if this is not a permissible question on Yahoo Answers.
Cathryn: Thank you for the recommendations. I can easily get the list of titles, but knowing which ones to spend the time trying to find is another problem.
Diane: Thank you for your recommendations and the info about the websites. I am not exactly trying to avoid porn or sexual plot lines, but neither is that my motivation for my question. I simply want recommendations for good books in this area of interest.
I have been copying information down, because I had this question deleted before.

For transgender fiction online, you could try looking at Ellen Hayes brilliantly written "Saga of Tuck"; it's the best I've ever read (but be warned; if you're looking for porn or sexual plotlines, you won't find them in Tuck). There are several links to good TG and transsexual fiction archives on Ellen's website (link; http://www.barkingduck.net/ehayes/). Unless you want to read porn and sexual fantasy, avoid sites like Ficitionmania, or anything which uses the words 'sissy', 'maid', 'shemale' or similar.
For memoirs/biographys on paper, there are dozens, possibly hundreds to choose form, but I'd recommend
"Conundrum" by Jan Morris,
"She's not there" by Jennifer Finney Boylan,
"The woman I was not born born to be" by Aleshia Brevard, or
"I am a woman" by Tula (Caroline Cossey).
Again, avoid any titles which include the words above, or anything that has 'confessions' in the title or on the jacket.

Do a google search, there are many trans fiction archives on the net with thousands of stories.
Until recently, just about the only thing a transsexual could get published was memoirs and most of them are lousy. One decent recent one was "She's not There" by Jenny Boylan and the best one out of print is "Canary" by Canary Conn, but that is almost impossible to find these days.
added: I also highly recommend the Tuck Saga with the warning it's addictive and Ellen takes her time with the new chapters. Kudos Diane
