Why is the last 30 min of work always the longest?

That 30 min feels like it lasts longer then the other 71/2 hours.

I know what you mean!!! It is because you are so anxious to leave because the work day is almost done that the time drags on.

Work is one of the greatest human exercise nor only for the mind but also for the body..and if you exceed and work too much one becomes workaholic and difficult to get rid off...8 hours a day as a working schedule seems and sounds tough, that at the end of the day you just wish to lie down and rest...the last 30 mins seems to be longest hours for many because they start to rush and bit the time, or deadline schedules because they go slow and relax for the 7 and a half hours...they feel they have to hurry otherwise they will be piled with more work the next day...that is why the word schedule is there for an individual to allocate his time properly so he will not haste and then waste in the end...and the last 30 minutes becomes so precious that many wriggle out of work and put it off the next day..thus procrastination results....so the best thing is work with pleasure but without pressure to stay longer in this longest human activity.............happy working!!!

Because you're tired and anxious to have some down time. Some time where you don't have to worry about dealing with a supervisor and co-workers you may or may not get along with.

Also it's the time of the day where you want to relax eat and just wind down, the closer it comes to that the more slowly time seems to move.

Because you're anticipating to get the heck outta there, so you are actually thinking about time. During the earlier part of your work day, you are distracted with work and such so you don't really think about how much longer you're going to be working for.

first 7-1/2 hours you are irritated...""uffff...when will those 30 min get over so that i run outa here.....""

you're just waiting impatiently for something to end and it seems so slow...
