Why have people forgotten that the Pats have already won 21 in a row?

Selective memory? Also how can they not be the greatest dynasty ever if they go 19-0 this year. That would be a 21 in a row record and a 19 in a row record in the span of a few years.

Update:

From some of the answers you can see many people have forgotten.

Since Miami is the only NFL team to have an undefeated season, wouldn't it be great if New England ties that record during the same year that Miami goes without a win?

The greatest dynasty ever was the Steelers of 70s...they did it without free agent leaching and without cheating. They also did it without a coach who dresses like a garbageman. The Pats have won 21 in a row but that is where the streak stops...on Sunday. GO STEELERS!

if they go undefeated this year it would be a great accomplishment probably worthy of the title "Dynasty" but it would be 19 in a row not 21 (there season last year ended in a loss to the Colts.

They haven't won 21 in a row. I really do hope they go undefeated though. I'm from NE and have been a Patriots fan since the Bledsoe days. If the Steelers do happen to win this week, so be it. It really doesn't bother me if they don't go undefeated because SEE YOU IN THE SUPERBOWL ANYWAYS!

Hey buddy, just so you know, postseason games don't count in the record books. The Patriots have won 18 in a row in regular season play, several teams have won 17 in a row.

how would that be a 21 in a row record if they lost to the colts in the playoffs. and the most games they can win this year is 19

You conveniently forget the previous super bowls are tainted by spygate. This brought to you by the same team that brought us the snow plow game and the tuck rule. hmmm.

It is a shame that they have their legacy ruined by cheating when they were good enough to win atleast one or two without the cheating we know about. Their only hope of salvaging their legacy may be going undefeated, winning another Super Bowl may not be enough.

if they win this year i'll consider them a dynasty but i don't believe you can compare dynasties.

i remember when people were saying if they win this year you've got to consider them a dynasty, that'll be 4 out of 5 years.

then i heard they're definately a dynasty when they win it all this year, that'll be 4 out of 6 years.

not i'm hearing 4 out of 7 years is the greatest dynasty of all time.

so... if they don't win - will we hear 4 out of 8 years qualifies as a dynasty.

Probably because they aren't on a 21 game win streak. Remember the playoffs last year? That was 13 games ago.

Take it one step at a time. Talk about this season and if they go undefeated then you can talk about past seasons and such in the off-season.

And they aren't undefeated. They obviously lost to the Colt's. If you are gonna try to combine seasons then post-season should count also.
