If you can't pay one credit card how are you going to pay 2? I don't see any way of getting the Avon off your card and on to hers. The only thing you can do is ask for all the money she charged on your card and use it to pay on your card. Do not start another card at this point.

No moving money to your Capital One card won't help you just yet. You just need to pay as much as you possibly can towards your Bank of America card every month and do not use it at all. Clip coupons, downgrade your cable or cell phone package, eat mac and cheese a couple nights a week. You'll be surprised how much extra money you will have to put towards your credit card bill. That's the best way to pay it down.
About the Avon account. It's time to talk to your mom. Tell her you need her to pay that off NOW it hurting your credit especially if they are calling you b/c she is late paying. You can also call Avon and see if you can be taken off the account you may need your mom's permission to do this but if you can you should and soon.

I am sorry but your question is very confusing....can you repost it and be more clear about it. Really not sure what are you talking about regarding paying $300 on a card you have NOT activated yet.
The Avon thing sound like it is on you, because your name is on the account and not your mother-in-law. You have to take care of it with Avon then ask your mother-in-law to pay your back.

I'm confused about the avon thing, other than your MIL screwed you. Never never never let anyone open credit in your name, ever! Your credit card situation really is not as bad as you are describing. Forget the Capital One card. you don't need it. $500 is really not that much at all. To payit off you need to be disciplined enough to devote as much money as you can each month to paying it off. Trying to do that with another credit card is confusing, unnecessary, and frankly not that smart.

why won;t Mom pay - ? your husband says?
yep - education is expensive
you have to make more than the minimum payment
AND it has to get there on time
I have had my new card for 2 years
interest paid 00000
card rate 21%
how??????
I pay it off every month - so I do not overcharge
only charge what I can pay off
I get 5% for grocery-gas-pharmacy purchases
and 1% on everything else
have received over $350 in cash back
get on the stick - this has got to be taken care of or
your credit score will be lower than a 5th graders

Stop uisng credit cards, stop beleiving your mother in law. Get a job, pay of the card with highest interest first while paying the minimum on the others. Never use credit cards for the rest of your life, they are usefull for people who have a high level of discipline but too dangerous for people like you and me.

How often to you tell your mother-in-law that she must pay you back and that your credit is ruined because of her debt?
According to law, I hope you know it's now YOUR debt!
So first things first... get that money from her.
And go to the Clark Howard website and find a reputable company to help you learn about finances and help you with YOUR financial problems.

Open the capital one card but don't use it. Pay the BOA card down so it is under the limit and just pay enough to keep it under the limit until you can pay Avon off. Then pay the BOA card off.

by doing that you are passing the debt and not really solving the problem. I would approach your mother swallow your pride and say " you owe me for this and its not fair expecting me to pay for all this...we need to come to a solution....then i would talk to your citizens advice bureau for info and professional guidance. you can also negotiate with capital one and say i need to change the terms of payment here ...there are laws there to protect you.....maybe you should also consider cutting back in your lifestyle maybe sell something you can afford to be without.....then cut your losses learn fom this....get one card and destroy one and lower the credit limit.........hope this helps/// good luck.....you will get out of it.....

You need to have a very high level of discipline when we talk about credit cards. You have to control your desires. You need to have a very high level of discipline when we talk about credit cards. You have to control your desires.
