What do you think about Jamie Langenbrunner being named the NJ Devils new captain?

me I say 'Finally' as in we have a new captain & 2.

He was in my top 3 picks for captain. The other 2 would be Madden & Gionta.

What about you guys?

Update:

Andrew V yeah we wonder about getting the name on the jersey as well...

a friend would call him 'LONGnamenbrunner'

Update 2:

Mike p....

I haven't seen him slow down. & The fact you say for him to retire... send me my SS, Pension etc.

I may not be int he dressing room but hearing what the guys say about him on & off ice, he's a good choice. 9as well as MAYBE White..but then again i've 'known' him from his farm team days & HIS nickname was stuoid shithead (pardon the language)

Update 3:

I actually used to like Jamie when he was on the Stars..& no Offense .Thank goodness we 'saved' him! (the ONLY Player I liked on the Stars) ..now does that speak volumes for him, I don't know. plus I don't want to end up sounding like some puck bunnie either.

Langenbrunner is a good choice. He is a tough gritty player that gives his all every time out. While he was with us, in Dallas, he impressed me, and I was very dissapointed that we let him go. He is much like Morrow, who was also named captain of the Stars. They play a lot alike, so I think it will be good for the Devils. Madden would have been a good choice as well. Could have gone either way. Perhaps his off-ice leadership mirrors his on-ice performance, and that was enough to give him the nod.

I don't like it. The guy should be thinking about retiring. He's slown down considerably. Just being a veteran isn't enough, and just having won Stanley Cups isn't enough. I say it should've gone to John Madden. After all, that other John Madden would certainly think of him an "All-Madden player."

i think its good the devils picked a caption but Langenbrunner would of been like 4th on my list, he deserves it. i think Elias should of still had the C since that one of the main reasons he stayed. madden and white would of been good as well. but Langenbrunner will lead the team greatly and everyone is staring to click with each other.

No problem with it at all. He seems to always play hard. I was thinking maybe Madden, but not upset about Langenbrunner. My question is how do they get his name to fit on the back of his sweater?

    It should have been Madden.
