If you are looking for ideas on wedding centerpieces , colors and more you should take a look at Sensational Brides they have an amazing gallery of 1000s of ideas

I am sure everyone suggests the same burgundy and earth tones for fall. I would do something a little different . Try to stay away from the cliche leave patterns and fall theme. Do something like shades of gold and cream , or perhaps different shades of lavender, and purple. Good luck and I hope you find some helpful ideas.

PS I believe you need to login to see the photos in the gallery

Okay, my friend was going to get married next fall and our favorite idea was instead of throwing flower petals down for the bride to walk on..have the flower girl toss fall colored leaves!

Also, the bridesmaid's dresses were to be a deep olive green and the bouquets were just an assortment of oranges, deep reds, browns, deep yellows and such.

For centerpieces we were going to have a horn-of-plenty on each table with different fall colored accesories in them, such as leaves, small pumpkins, ghords, etc..

It really is a good time of year to get married! So much can be done with it!

Good luck to you and Congrats to your sister!

Use the colors of fall to set the tone for your decoration theme.

Use golds, chocolate brown, orange and reds.

Candles, ribbons, flowers, and lanterns work well for centerpieces and then you could extend this to areas in the room that need extra decoration.

The fall weddings board at theknot.com is very helpful.

You can have a flowergirl drop silk leaves instead of petals. Have pumpkins and leaves as part of your decor. Caramel apples, mini pumpkin bread loaves, or homemade apple or pumpkin butter in small jars for favors. Use fall colors (burgundy, copper, gold, sage). Get a leaf design on your invites or rubberstamp them onto plain invites of your choice. Go with fall flavors for your cake (pumpkin, apple, etc) and decorate it with leaves and mini pumpkins. Serve apple cider (chilled or hot) to your guests as they arrive at the reception.

My friend got married in October and used Mums as centerpieces...it looked very nice!!! It would also be good to include fall colors in your bridesmaid dresses and flowers. Chocolate brown is huge right now, so she can use that to her advantage!!

i got married last november, so technically it was still fall.

my flowers were calla (sp) lillies, and gold/brown ribbon was tied around them. (they were long-stemmed)

we had some sort of orange berries tied in with all of the flowers. oh, and the groom wore an orange rose.

you can pretty much do anything "fallish." but the brown, gold, and rich colors look really nice.
