Protestant translations maybe
Source(s): 3&4 Maccabees are ancient commentaries on 1 & 2 Maccabees. Even Catholics and Jews have never considered them scripture but they are outstanding books to read for greater understanding. To Catholics , the books of the Maccabees are not considered Apocryphal , so if your Bible labels them as such it is likely an Anglican translation as most other Protestants do not even include them. - Anonymous1 decade ago
3 & 4 Maccabees are NOT a part of the "Apocrypha" - but considered part of the so-called Pseudepigrapha, the Biblical book 3 Maccabees is found in most Orthodox Bibles as a part of the deuterocanonical books but Protestants and Catholics regard it as apocryphal and you won't find it included.
Amongst churches other than the orthodox, 4 Maccabees has always been regarded as completely apocryphal.

Is a Protestant Bible therefore is an incomplete Bible. Maybe the translations of some Protestants deemed that it didn't merit to be there. You could ask the person that you bought it from.

You apparently purchased a Roman Catholic Bible.
Roman Catholics only include 7 books of the 14 to 16 books in the Apocrapha in their Bibles.
Third and Forth Maccabees are not considered "Scripture" by anyone.

What type did you get? Catholic and Eastern Bibles don't use 3,4 Maccabees, only 1, and 2. They don't use a few other LXX books either.
