Mitt Romney Religous Debate?

The Mormon religion for those who may know less about it is a knowingly racist faith depicting God as being favored to those who have fair skin, furthermore they are the contributing factor to the exclusion of gays in the scouts. He is being compared to JFK because of JFK's Catholic faith but the basis of the Catholic church does not display the same negative nature.

My question is, how is it possible to compare a faith thats sole basis is rooted in racism to a faith that only fundamentally flawed by a select few that practice it?

Update:

Please for those of you who are offended by this question read further into your facts, I never stated that other races have not joined the LDS, I have only stated facts, if you don't believe me please read further into the matter before answering. I have very few actual quips with the LDS church with exception to their dissolution of gays in scouts.

Update 2:

Please don't miss the point of the question, I am not stupid I realize that most Christian based faiths are against homosexuality. My simple point it easy to see here, LDS was founded during a time where acceptance of peoples differences was scarce specially Native Americans. Christians that judge others aren't Christians, the Christian Bible explains very clearly mans lack of the right to judge others. No one gets to escape this one.

I guess it all depends on which Mormon Bible you have read. While many uninformed people dispute the authenticity of the actual Bible, historians and archeologists do all the defending for Christians...so that is a moot argument....

BUT, the Mormon bible has been revised and changed over the course of the past 100 years...largely to remove its racist history as well as its fradulent prophecies.

So, while you are correct, my answer to your question would be which version of the Mormon Bible are you reading...and to standby, as I am sure the newest revised edition will be out before the Republican primaries next year...specificly to address the very poinent points you brought up here.

What debate!!!! , his religion started like all of them .

Some religions are better then others and since you mentioned the Catholics here goes .

For a long time the sisters of charity worked in hospitals treating the sick and poor for free .

Catholic hospitals are a thing of the past .

Its better to build a football stadium expand the schools and make a bigger profit creating a nice church for people to attend and never mind all the charity stuff .

Swimming pools , basketball courts , and a top football team is more important then tending to the sick .

Seems the priests wanted playgrounds and after school programs to identify those kids who's parents are to busy to pay them any attention and so the priests did .

No religion is worth it in the long run .

Its an organization just like any other group led by salesman ever put together . Its Amway for the terminally stupid .

\In the end you have no good leads and a garage full of product nobody wants .

My black and Hispanic Mormon friends would be so offended by the paragraph following your question! No, I am not lying. I have black friends and Hispanic friends who have been LDS members for many years. HOW DARE YOU. You're either misguided or you're lying, and neither one bodes well for you.

Is this the best you can do to try and discredit the LDS Church? Is this the best you can do? Because it's pretty damn pathetic from where I sit. I'd say "nice try," but it really wasn't. Come up with something true or sit down and shut up.

P.S. I'm not even a Mormon, and I'm still calling you out on your B.S.

There are compelling reasons that true, Bible believing christians should be concerned about Mormonism, but you seem to be unaware of what they are.

With respect to Romney, it is unclear, and we shouldn't expect to hear any theological statements from him, where he stands personally stands religiously. Is he a Mormon in name only? Who knows? If he is, then he has a lot of company among other Presidents who have been christians in name only.

Racism is, by most accounts a thing of the past with LDS, but the fact that LDS has relegated Jesus Christ to angelhood and stripped Him of His deity (John 1, Collosians 1, Hebrews 1) clearly takes Mormonism out of the category of Christian orhtodoxy and places it into the classification of cult.

It would be nice if just one Mormon would be honest enough to stand up and admit that Mormonism is direct opposition to orthodox Christianity when it comes to the person, work, and words of Christ.

i think the compassion revolves around the 'never has there been a presidential possibility of the [insert faith] background, rather than a religious comparison, JFK saw Catholicism as a hurdle given the time and its own prejudice's and Romney likely the same, apart from the differing levels of buffoonery needed in believing either pressies i think the compression stands.

The Mormon Church is not a racist church, nor do we believe that God favors those with fairer skin. I'm Mormon, and my wife is black. We were married in a Mormon temple, where the officiator told us that God approved of our marriage. My wife is treated well at church, as are the other African American members of our congregation. I've had a black bishop in several different Mormon congregations of which I've been a member.

Many anti-Mormons, however, intentionally misrepresent Mormon teachings in an attempt to discredit Mormonism. I've written about this type of discrimination on my site at http://www.allaboutmormons.com/brief_critique_anti... . Pay careful attention to the video at http://www.allaboutmormons.com/ENG_Video62.php .

Check the Evangelicals and other Christian faiths and tell me if they aren't against gays in various societies, groups, etc.

When you can stop calling Mormons racist, then there is a possibility of discussion. Until them please stop telling lies about that which you know nothing about!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is NOT rooted in racism and I resepnt your erroneous statements! HOW DARE YOU!

How can you compare any faith at all. They all have thier craizies.

No one religion is better than any other...except mine of course.

because historically speaking catholic states believing themselves to be the will of god have destroyed whole civilisations and religious beliefs.
