What are those little skis called?
Not Ski-boards, not alpine, not telamark, not cross country... they are for walking kind of. They have a carpet, or hair like material on the bottom so that you go forwards, but not slid backwards... Anyone know what I'm talking about? What are they called, and what do you know about them? Thanks.
No, not blades either. Blades are like ski-boards, except on for tricks... these are like short cross country skis.... but they are wide and have that carpet think I'm talking about.

Well, I know you are talking about the same type of material backcountry skiers fix to their skis when hiking up the mountains. They are called climbing skins. Can slide one direction, but not the other.
But I have never heard of anyone attaching that to boots, or making a small walking platform out of them. I searched a little too, and couldn't find anything. Is this perhaps a European product?

Several types over the years: Snow Runners (more recently called Sled Dogs) - a plastic boot/ski combo that was a one piece deal. They skis like you're on roller skates. Skiboards (aka SnowBlades) - usually non release binding mini skis typically sized from about 75cm on up to 130cm. This is the ones that are most common and are liked by many who tend to not ski that often. Snowblades are the skiboards made exclusively by Salomon. Floskis - short skis made by one manufacturer that appear to be skis with the tails missing. Search the net for more info on these. Short skis - Kid sized adult skis typically from 120cm to about 150cm. They are marketed to be easier in the park and less tip/tail to hang up in mogul fields. I have seen some really short, deep sidecut Atomic skis used primarily by slalom athletes for training and racing.
